Anthony L. Robbins

Biography

More Than a Résumé

A Life Shaped by Experience. Defined by Service.

Dr. Anthony L. Robbins was born August 24, 1973, in Miami, Florida. He is the founder of a multi-state forensic private investigation firm, a Georgia POST-certified law enforcement professional, court-certified expert whose testimony has shaped outcomes in more than 200 felony and capital cases, published author of five works, father, community servant, and longtime advocate whose life has unfolded across multiple sides of the American justice system — not as a bystander, but as a participant, a witness, and ultimately a voice.

Chapter One

The Father Who Chose to Stay

Anthony's biological father left his life while Anthony was still very young. After his mother remarried, Larry Robbins Sr. stepped forward, adopted Anthony when he was approximately two years old, gave him the Robbins family name, and raised him as his son. To Anthony, Larry Robbins was never simply the man who adopted him — he was his father. The man who stayed. The man who provided guidance and discipline. The man who accepted responsibility for raising him.

That experience shaped everything that followed. It is why Anthony became the first Black male accepted into the Florida Supervised Visitation Network — because he understood, from the inside, what it means for a child to need a present, accountable father figure. It is why fatherhood is not a footnote in his biography. It is the foundation.

"I learned early that fatherhood is not about biology alone. It is about who stays, who raises you, who protects you, and who accepts responsibility for your life."

Growing Up in Miami

Anthony, Miami — early years

Raised in Miami, Florida, Robbins came of age in a city that was simultaneously vibrant and volatile — a place where community and conflict existed side by side. His upbringing gave him an early and unfiltered education in how institutions, families, and neighborhoods interact.

A solid upbringing did not guarantee a perfect path. Robbins does not describe his journey as a straight line — but as a series of choices, each one building toward a life of purpose and service.

He was invited to the Presidential Inauguration of President Biden and Vice President Harris, personally honored by Former Vice President Al Gore for literacy advocacy, and appointed by President George W. Bush to the U.S. Selective Service System — where he served for 20 years and received a Certificate of Appreciation.

Miami-Dade County declared April 30, 1999 'Anthony L. Robbins Day.' He was appointed to the City of Miami Community Relations Board in 2001 and has been repeatedly entrusted by Miami mayors — including Manuel A. Diaz, Tomás Regalado, and Alex Penelas — to serve on high-profile municipal oversight boards. He was the first Black male accepted into the Florida Supervised Visitation Network.
